Rodger Lang was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 9, 1942. He received his BA in art with an emphasis in ceramics, painting and collage in 1964 from Cornell College. At the University of Wisconsin, Lang graduated with an MS in art in 1965 and an MFA in 1966. He taught ceramics and glassblowing at various arts institutions including Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina and the Cleveland Institute of Art. He arrived in Denver in 1970 and became a professor at Metropolitan State College (now MSU). From 1984-1987, Lang served as the Chair of the Department of Art at MSU. His blown glass, mixed media sculpture and ceramic sculpture has been exhibited widely nationally and internationally.
