Barbara Locketz was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1927. She received her BS from the University of Minnesota and her MA from the University of Denver (DU) and then taught at DU from 1964 to 1971. Due to her close ties with DU, Locketz knew Vance Kirkland and was his student, friend and coworker. She created sculpture and jewelry. Her work has been exhibited across the United States and is part of collections in Colorado, Utah, Texas and New York. This sculpture rotates in its stem base.
