Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art
Primary and Secondary School Group Policies:

Thank you for your interest in bringing your students to Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art. Because of the fragile nature of our collections, and our open, salon style displays, we cannot accommodate students prior to 8th grade.  Teachers of younger students who are planning lessons on Vance Kirkland or Colorado artists are encouraged to call us for programs or assistance that we can bring to the school.

For classes from 8th grade through high school the following restrictions apply:

Students 8th grade to high school sophomores:

  1. No more than 15 in group
  2. 1 chaperone to each 5 students
  3. Chaperones should be familiar with, and willing to enforce, museum rules.
  4. Students should be currently involved in studies of art or design
  5. Classes must be under the supervision of a Kirkland Museum docent or staff member at all times. No individual museum time may be planned.

High School Groups: Juniors and Seniors

  1. Students should be currently involved in studies of art or design
  2. No more than 30 students per group
  3. 1 chaperone for each 10 students
  4. Chaperones should be familiar with, and willing to enforce, museum rules.
