Volunteer in a museum surrounded by great art, great design and great people.
Develop knowledge about the collection to provide visitors with an introduction to the museum and information about our collections. Help support the staff to maintain the safety and security of the visitors and the collection. Tuesday-Sundays 11am - 3pm.
Experienced gallery attendants may be offered the opportunity to increase their training to become a docent. Docents lead tours of the collection and are given training in decorative art, Colorado art, as well as an in depth study of Vance Kirkland. Contact the Coordinator of Volunteers for more information about this position.
Kirkland Museum operates with a small staff, so volunteers have the opportunity to wear many hats in assisting staff in museum operations including tasks such as answering phones, data entry, and preparing mailings. Volunteers commit to weekly or biweekly shifts.
Support the museum staff by assisting with set up and clean up, welcoming guests, and serving food. Occasional evenings.
Any available internships will be posted on this page. If there are no current opportunities posted, email a cover letter and resume to Megan Sullivan, Coordinator of Volunteers (firstname.lastname@example.org). We will notify you of any future opportunities. Resumes will be kept on file for a period of one year.
All applicants must complete an interview and criminal background check.
All volunteers receive discounts in the museum store and opportunities for further training and advancement.
