Salvador Dalí is best known for his surreal paintings like Persistence of Memory, which features melting clocks. A different kind of melting (that of candle wax) is associated with the chrome plated bronze candlesticks Castor and Pollux, named for twin brothers of Greek myth. The candlesticks are in a modern cubist style and are signed by Dalí.
