Red Wing Potteries was founded in 1877 in Red Wing, MN, as a manufacturer of utilitarian stoneware. Red Wing’s dinnerware production began in 1935 and continued until their closure in 1967. The Futura shape was described by the company as being “designed for practicality as well as interest and grace” and the lids as giving “zest” to the service. The pattern Crazy Rhythm offered a funky abstract design in muted colors to a popular shape line.
