Carley Warren was born in 1931 and grew up on a farm in Maine. She attended Westbrook College in Portland, Maine and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, Maine before moving to Colorado in 1953 for the mountains and skiing. In Colorado she explored art through evening classes and received her BA in 1975 from Metropolitan State College (now MSU). Warren began her career creating sculptures in acrylic plastic, as seen here. Her more recent work is created from wood and is material-driven. Warren has exhibited widely throughout Colorado and continues to sculpt.
