Louis Tardy, along with designer Valery Bizouard, provided artistic direction in the period between the two world wars to Tétard Féres, an Art Deco French silversmith company specializing in flatware. Although Tétard Féres specialized in pieces of the Louis XV style, Bizouard and Tardy explored more modern design ideas. The Covered Sugar Bowl and Teapot feature an Art Deco streamlined lid. The pieces are made with silver colored metal and rosewood. Tétard Féres received awards at the 1889 Exposition Universelle and 1931 International Colonial Exposition, both in Paris, for company pieces.
