Media bronze

Dimensions 19 5/8 x 21 5/8 x 18 1/2 inches

James A. Dixon was born in El Paso, Texas in 1958. He received his BFA and MFA from Colorado State University in 1981 and 1986 respectively. Dixon is known for his distinctive sculptures, yet he is also a painter and illustrator. His sculptures inventively comment on the bronze fine art industry and are inspired by the cast-offs and by-products left from conventional bronze foundry processes. Dixon has worked with Andy Warhol, painter David L. Dietemann, jazz artist Hugh Ragin, artist Ed Dwight and bronze artist Raymond B. Fedde (owner of Denver Fedde Bronze Works, closed 2010). He continues to produce art in Colorado and exhibits widely across the United States.
