Charles Parson was born in Florida and first studied at the A. E. Bakus Studio in Fort Pierce, Florida before receiving his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1970. He earned his MFA at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1972. Parson has taught art at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, University of Denver, Regis University, University of Colorado and currently at the Community College of Denver. Parson has exhibited his drawings and sculptures widely throughout the United States. His large sculptural work utilizes industrial materials and has been commissioned across the United States for parks, universities and museums.
