Sushe Felix is a Colorado native raised in Colorado Springs. She received her BFA from Arizona State University in Tempe. Felix’s work, both painting and sculpture, is both abstract and symbolic of the natural world, drawing inspiration from landscapes. She particularly likes to experiment with colors and forms much like Santa Fe’s Transcendental Painting Group, which Felix cites as a major influence. Her work is exhibited widely and she continues to produce art at her studio and home in Lakewood, Colorado. Her husband Tracy Felix is also a noted Colorado artist in Kirkland Museum’s collection. The frame on this painting was crafted and painted by the artist.
