Private Guided Tours

Groups may request a Private Guided Tour during public Museum hours (Wednesday-Saturday 11am to 5pm, Sunday 12 to 5pm) with advance notice.

Due to the intimate size of the galleries, groups with more than 15 people will be required to split into multiple groups or begin with staggered tour times.

Scheduling a Private Guided Tour is dependent upon the availability of trained Museum docents and staff. Guide availability is limited so advanced planning is required.

Once you’ve decided which option below is best for your group, please fill out the Group or Tour Scheduling Request Form below.

Non-refundable prepayment is required. Cost includes general admission. Please note that Private Group Tour requests on weekends incur an additional $50 flat fee.

Two Content Options

Tour price and length are as listed above for either content choice.

  • Introductory Private Guided Tour: All groups visiting Kirkland Museum for the first time are encouraged to take the introductory tour, which covers an overview of the Museum’s history and three collections: International Decorative Art, Colorado & Regional Art and paintings by namesake Vance Kirkland.
  • Art Deco Private Guided Tour: Offered May 22, 2024, through January 12, 2025, ONLY! This tour, best for those who have previously toured the Museum, offers a deeper dive into Kirkland Museum’s rich Art Deco collection. The Art Deco style flourished in the 1920s and 1930s as designers looked toward the future. In the Museum’s Art Deco Gallery 6, visitors can see examples from Western Europe as well as the United States. Go further in depth as you view the glamorous temporary exhibition Vanity & Vice: American Art Deco, which explores the dynamic designs that arose from the rebellious years of 1920–1933. This exhibition invites you into two distinct spaces occupied by a progressive Prohibition-era woman: her boudoir and a speakeasy.
