Two Content Options
- General Collection Tour: All groups visiting Kirkland Museum for the first time are encouraged to take this tour, which covers an overview of the Museum’s history and three collections: International Decorative Art, Colorado & Regional Art and paintings by namesake Vance Kirkland.
- Art Deco Tour: This tour, best for those who have previously toured the Museum, offers a deeper dive into Kirkland Museum’s rich Art Deco collection. The Art Deco style flourished in the 1920s and 1930s as designers looked toward the future. In the Museum’s Art Deco Gallery 6, visitors can see examples from Western Europe as well as the United States. Go further in depth as you view the glamorous temporary exhibition Vanity & Vice: American Art Deco, which explores the dynamic designs that arose from the rebellious years of 1920–1933. This exhibition invites you into two distinct spaces occupied by a progressive Prohibition-era woman: her boudoir and a speakeasy.
