Sales or Donations of Art
Thank you for your interest in the collections of Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art.
All acquisition decisions are thoughtfully made to determine if the object helps the museum to further promote its mission.
For art appraisals:
Under law, Kirkland Museum may not perform identifications, authentications or valuations. The American Society of Appraisers website can help you locate a certified appraiser in your area: www.appraisers.org.
For noncash donations:
To consider a gift to Kirkland Museum we request the following:
- An image, or images, of the piece, including signature or mark.
- As much of the following information as you can provide: artist or designer name, manufacturer if decorative arts piece, date, what it is made from, size, condition and how you acquired it or where it came from.

Kirkland Museum is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable organization and your gift may be eligible for a tax deduction. Please familiarize yourself with IRS Form 8283 Noncash Charitable Contributions, which can be found at www.irs.gov. Note that IRS regulations prevent Kirkland Museum from assigning a value to your donation.
For art sales:
Kirkland Museum may consider art for purchase. Please provide the same information as noncash donations (above) and include asking price. Once we have all of the above information, we will determine if the object is suitable for our collection and contact you.
