Artist Robert Delaney (b. 1951, American)

Robert Delaney was born in Philadelphia in 1951. He spent his childhood in Colorado Springs and at a young age was inspired by the art of Alexander Calder. Delaney’s expertise and focus is on kinetic and mobile sculptures. He made his first mobile when he was 13 years old. Delaney studied at Western State College in Gunnison, the University of Colorado at Boulder pursuing a major in art history and the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs where he received his BA in sculpture in 1981. Delaney’s kinetic sculptures have been commissioned both privately and publicly, many on a monumental scale as large as 30 feet. His first important exhibition was in 2002 at Ron Judish Fine Arts in Denver, where Delaney resides.
