LeDonne was born in Oak Creek, CO. An inventor as well as ceramic and metal sculptor, he attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Alfred University, the School for American Craftsmen in Rochester, NY, and the Rochester Institute of Technology. He was recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts and was a Rockefeller Foundation grant recipient.
