Kenneth Warnock Evett was born in Loveland, CO, and received a BA degree in 1935 from Colorado State College (now University) in Fort Collins. Moving to Colorado Springs, he earned his MFA in painting at Colorado College in 1939 and continued to study at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center under noted muralists George Biddle and Henry Varnum Poor. Evett joined the faculty of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, in 1948, where he remained for over thirty years.
